The words we speak can either encourage or break.
As a mentor your words matter, as a parent your words even matter more.
A simple thank you can encourage more kindness.
Words can become flesh and either give life or death to a situation.
Simple words like "I believe in you" to your child helps them to try even more.
"I love you" to your spouse every once in a while affirms your care and affection.
The lack of it shows you do not care.
"You look really nice today" can make light of someone's very bad day.
That guy in your office whom you think is always angry might just need a word of encouragement like, "your tie is lovely" or " you look sharp today"
You see, the bottom line is, if good words can make and shape other peoples feelings then bad words can create more angry people.
Learn to say nice words to people stop saying "am blunt, I say it as it is" you are creating a bad impression of yourself.
There is not crime in shutting your mouth instead of hurting the other person with your hash words.
Now feel this, I would you feel if on your wedding day a friend whom you respect so much says your wedding dress is crap looking? Or while you are planning your wedding she says your wedding colour is ugly?
Don't get me wrong, every once a while we need to hear the truth to put us in check.
Words are like egg, when spoken cannot be taken back.
Take caution before you speak those words.
Its the weekend lets be kind to one another.
Omolola
You are so right Omolola!
ReplyDeleteIt's your words that create your world. One needs to think before talking. Not only that, watch mood and environment before making comments.
Some comments/jokes/proverbs that we say sometimes don't make sense, because it might look like we are passing a message indirectly, and that could really be hurtful.
Even the Bible says we should be slow to speak. It is also written that only a fool utters all that is in his/her heart. (James 1vs19 & Proverbs 29vs11)
So all you blunt people out there, be careful/mindful/sensitive to your environment and pray Proverbs 8vs 6-7 for yourselves.
Let your words be encouraging even in corrections. Speak kindly always.
Well done Omolola! God bless you!!
Thank you ma for the encouragement and words of wisdom.
